WEEKEND BREAKFAST VIBES 🌿
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If I’m not working on a Saturday, I make sure to make a warm filling breakfast to start the day. This keeps me warm, helps with my digestion (hello vata) and supports my blood sugar levels (energy ⚡️). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is not scramble eggs my friends, it’s organic tofu with organic turmeric! I also have some local sourdough (no yeast added), avocado and smokey kale kraut. The only thing missing is Valentina hot sauce, am I right? Maybe some greens too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Check out my stories for research on soy. Soy is not unhealthy, however, I will say two things. 1- in Asia they have about 1/2 cup of tofu or 1 cup of soy milk. Those levels are associated with health benefits. In North America, I think the consumption is higher. Look at my plate 😂. 2- There are some medical conditions, for example thyroid, that don’t thrive on soy. Soy is also one of the top allergens. I’m all for science, but you must listen to how you feel! If science says eat 1/2 cup a day, but you have major tummy cramping and loose bowels from it, I don’t care about research. I like to include both research and listening to our bodies because they’re smart and when you have symptoms, the body is begging you to listen.

Thank you for all the logo love. I’m still thinking about the feminine logo. Is it weird I want two? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Tagged some of my vegan friends for more inspo.

I’m so excited to share my very first logo! I literally love three designs and all of them included leaves, such a nature lover. I decided to go with this one as it’s easy to read, reminds me of roots of a plant and blends in with my goal of PLANTING SEEDS FOR A HEALTHY LIFE. Thank you so much to Marley of @rosedesigns.co who was patient and received very little direction. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

If you asked me a couple years ago about the moon and horoscopes, I either would have looked confused or laughed. Today is a very different story. I’m feeling more connected than ever and I have so much more to learn. As my friend said, it’s commonly referred to as the ‘weird stuff.’ Yesterday, my moon calendar app shared a little horoscope blurb, which was INCREDIBLY timed. I’ll tag the app because today’s is also 👌🏼 “There are some sharp and very dynamic energies around you today, which may feel like a lot, EVEN for you. Focusing on a new project, something which allows you to lead the way and use your pioneering abilities will help you put it to good use. Try not to rush ahead into the first thing you think of, a little perspective is needed to avoid getting burnt out.” Today, two people I know called me insane because of my schedule. I get it from my mom for sure, so I’m reminding myself yet again to slow down, do what I can to reduce stress, surrender and soften. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What are your thoughts on the moon phases? Horoscopes? Oracle cards? I want to hear it all! IF YOU’RE INTO IT COMMENT WITH A MOON EMOJI.

Thank you to every one of you that engages with me, you’re why I’m here sharing. xo, so much love. Jordan 🌓

🌵 I ate this delicious salad while in the Bahamas this Fall. I’ve always been able to modify meals at resorts to fit my lifestyle, a cruelty free one. What I enjoy even more though is renting a place with a kitchen. You have the option of cooking when you’re in the mood or dining out. It’s fun traveling with people that enjoy cooking (eating) plants because you can trade off whose turn it is. I started the Mexico all inclusive life at age 21 and have probably done it 7 times easy - but it’s just not my thing. Airbnb life steals my heart and it’s almost similar in price. 🌴 I like immersing myself into the culture, eating when I want (damn all inclusive eating schedules), and planning my day! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
WHICH DO YOU PREFER?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Note if flying with a family that would increase costs significantly. 🌵#brucesroots
I forgot my book so I wrote an opinion piece on diet culture versus protocols. I ramble a bit with respect fo my thoughts on society, particularly for the female identifying. How we are often in need of being rescued, the victim role even. How there can be assumptions on what is pretty or healthy or ok. Just try to eat whole foods friends and lots of plants. If you have a visitor (candida, parasite, unwanted bacteria) then I think going on a protocol is a form of self love and no one should judge you. Trendy diets however, I prefer to advocate slow change, planting seeds for a healthy life if you will. You can’t hate your body into loving it. Do you think there’s a difference between a strict diet versus a protocol? I think the intention is different. Check out the blog!

For all those asking, taking it super slow and just relaxing. This is for sure speeding up my healing time as I’m not working or stressed.

Blue Zones - have you heard of them? 👵🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
People who reside in blue zones live longer, many becoming centenarians. Here are 9 things that they have in common.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1- Move Naturally: Not Marathons, Grow Gardens
2- Living With Purpose: Why Do You Wake Up In The Morning
3- Down Shift: Way To Deal With Stress
4- 80% Rule: Stop Eating When 80% Full
5- PLANTS: Meat is eaten on average only five times per month. Serving sizes are 3-4 oz., about the size of a deck of cards.
6- Wine at 5: The trick is to drink 1-2 glasses per day (preferably Sardinian Cannonau wine), with friends and/or with food. And no, you can’t save up all week and have 14 drinks on Saturday. I think this is more about perceived stress reduction and being social than alcohol.
7- Belong: Majority Faith Based
8- Loved Ones First
9- Right Tribe: The social networks of long-lived people have favorably shaped their health behaviors.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Where are the Blue Zones🌏
1- Barbagia region of Sardinia – Mountainous highlands of inner Sardinia with the world’s highest concentration of male centenarians.
2- Ikaria, Greece – Aegean Island with one of the world’s lowest rates of middle age mortality and the lowest rates of dementia.
3- Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica – World’s lowest rates of middle age mortality, second highest concentration of male centenarians.
4- Seventh Day Adventists – Highest concentration is around Loma Linda, California. They live 10 years longer than their North American counterparts.
5- Okinawa, Japan – Females over 70 are the longest-lived population in the world.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In this picture I’m enjoying a smoothie bowl with dad in chilly Vancouver, note the parka. Sometimes, I just crave the tropical bowls.
