Most people are told by doctors they have high stomach acid and then they’re put on proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). This makes me so sad and it happens ALL the time. An under active stomach is more common - low stomach acid and transit time.

So to test, I often ask my clients to test their transit time by eating BEETS! Yup, that’s it. Remember the time you eat the beets at then the last time you notice them in your bowel movement (red colour). The goal is between 12-24 hours. If you’re 6 hours for example, that means things are moving too quickly and you may not be absorbing certain nutrients - known as an overactive stomach. If it’s 24 plus hours, things are moving too slowly.
You can also try this with corn.
